Karachi Hosts the First International Tape Ball Tournament

A glittering opening ceremony was held here on Monday to mark the start of the first-ever international tape ball tournament. According to the information, a three-match tape ball extravaganza drew a lot of attention after it kicked off here Monday with three exciting games. Inverex Cricket Club defeated GFS KDA Strikers by 20 runs in the opening match. A solid foundation was established by Yahya Khan’s 40 runs.

From a solid opening, PSL franchise Quetta Gladiators’ owners-owned Omer Associates Gladiators routed Kotli Eleven by 10 wickets to start with. Rawalpindi-born Tahiri Pindi slammed 65 off 19 to help Gladiators chase down 95 runs in 4.5 overs. In Kings XI’s Asad Shah and Achi Butt’s last league match against Defence, Asad Shah hit his first fifty and Achi Butt made 42 runs as Kings XI crushed 124-2 in six overs. While chasing 125 runs, Defence managed only 55 runs.

In Karachi, for the first time in the history of international tape ball cricket, world-class teams from India, the USA, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and England are expected to participate.

The first tournament will be held in Karachi on June 20, spokesperson Jawaid Ali said. It will be played at night because negotiations with team representatives are still ongoing. India has been granted a visa to visit Pakistan, so it is clear that the tape ball team will come. Novad Essi, Amir Siddiqui of the US Tape Ball Association, and vice president Amir Siddiqui are all looking forward to the league.

According to Jawaid, playing tape ball cricket in Australia, England, and Canada is a good thing for American cricket, and the same thing might happen if Pakistan welcomes American cricket. This would make the tape ball league the most historic international tournament.

Teams from all nations play tape ball cricket nowadays. If the mentioned teams join us, it will become a historic international league. Tape-tennis cricket tournament organizers say that the winning team will be awarded PKR 5 million and the runners-up will receive PKR 3 million as a prize. Tape Ball T20 cricket has been played at the Eidgah Cricket Ground in Nazimabad, Karachi for 40 years. This is where T20 cricket began and it will be played using tape ball cricket. The tape ball cricket tournament will be broadcast live on Geo Super.
