It is understood that the inaugural Pakistan Junior League will be played from October 1 to 15, featuring six teams and 19 games at Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium. It was also reported by sources close to the PCB that after it invited corporate entities to be a part of the tournament there were as many as 24 companies who came forward with a desire to play different roles in capacities like sponsorships and even being involved in buying existing PSL franchises. The news has been confirmed by three of these current PSL franchises, which are interested in purchasing other clubs for investment purposes.

There are hundreds of cricketers in their late teens and early 20s who have the talent and ability to play for Pakistan. These young players come from all over Pakistan, but mostly from Karachi and Lahore. As a result, they are often not able to continue with the game because there is no pathway for them to take it further. Games will be held in Lahore
